EitaroSoftfs Latest MSM7500™ Demo, Displayed at Qualcommfs Booth
-CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2006

EitaroSoft, inc. provided its latest demo for MSM7500™, the next generation (3G) chipset for mobile handsets, for CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2006, held in Los Angeles from September 12th to 14th. The demo is displayed at QUALCOMMfs booth during the event.

MSM7500™ chipset is one of the new Convergence Platform Chipsets, developed by Qualcomm, optimized for MP3, cameras, and playing and recording movies, and the chipset supports VGA displays. MSM 7500™ is all-in-one, state-of-the-art chipset for the 3G mobile phones.

EitaroSoft became the first company in Japan to develop/release the Open GL ES-supporting mobile contents. With all that knowledge and experience we built from R&D for MSM6500™, we were one of the earliest to start a project on MSM7500™. In order to utilize all the superb features of MSM7500™, we began developing The King of the Fantasies, and had an opportunity to provide a partial demo for QUALCOMM.

In this demo, we actualized a very realistic and sensitive world of ancient Japan, utilizing key visual features. With various 3D techniques, we also successfully rendered naturalistic views, such as mountains in the far background, smooth fog, and effects caused by the lays of the sun, paying meticulous attention to small details. Other than depicting nature, also presented in the demo is a preview of the main character, fully visualized in 3D, with some of his motions, such as running, walking, and stand-by.

As some of the actual examples of technical features loaded on this demo, we implemented HDR, which is a must for realistic expressions of lighting effects, for Lens Flare and Halation. Also, by implementing Shadow Volume, we were able to depict shadows more realistically. Furthermore, in order to maintain this high performance, we applied Vertex Buffer at certain points. The frame rate of 30FPS is also a remarkable outcome, all of which can easily redefine what is possible on the mobile handsets.
